DUI Driver Arrested after Collision
On Friday, October 7, 2022, at approximately 8:06 pm, personnel from the Petaluma Police Department and Petaluma Fire Department were dispatched to the 1400 block of Casa Grande Road for a reported traffic collision. Officers arrived on scene and noticed a vehicle had collided into a business, Adobe Beverage and Deli. The collision caused significant damage to the business. Officers contacted the driver and sole occupant of the vehicle, later identified as Alana Wiltshire. It was determined Wiltshire was attempting to backup; she ultimately backed her vehicle into the front of the business disabling her vehicle. Wiltshire displayed objective signs of alcohol impairment. Wiltshire was placed under arrest for DUI.
The Petaluma Police Department has been committed to increasing traffic safety and especially reducing the number of alcohol-related collisions. Petaluma Police advise motorist to plan ahead if you’re going to go out and drink alcohol, designate a sober driver or share a ride. Drivers caught driving impaired and charged with a first-time DUI face an average of $13,500 in fines and penalties, as well as a suspended license.
