The Sheriff’s Office is investigating a shooting that occurred last night, October 9, 2022, in The Bluestone Apartments at 4921 Bluffton Parkway, Bluffton, SC.

Deputies were dispatched to a shots fired call at approximately 9:05 p.m. where several 911 calls were received reporting multiple shots being heard in the area.

Deputies arrived and searched the area and did not locate any victims. 

A short time later, the Sheriff’s Office received a call from Coastal Carolina Hospital reporting a walk-in patient with a gunshot wound.

A 21-year-old Bluffton man arrived at the hospital with a gunshot wound to his head.  The injury was determined to be a grazing wound.  He was treated and later released.

Through interviews, deputies determined that the man was sitting in a vehicle in the parking lot of The Bluestone Apartments with several other people when someone shot at them. 

One person was injured by gunfire.

The vehicle that they were sitting in was not located at the scene. 

Deputies found the vehicle a short time later on Cecil Reynolds Road in greater Bluffton with several bullet holes in it.
