Sheriff’s Homicide Investigators are assisting the South Gate Police Department with their investigation into the circumstances surrounding the death of a 42 year old Hispanic man inside his home in South Gate.
South Gate Police Officers responded to a home in the 2500 block of Indiana Avenue regarding a family disturbance call. The call indicated there was a fight inside the home. Upon arriving, officers were directed to a bedroom in the rear of the home where the victim was found unresponsive. Los Angeles County Fire Department personnel responded and pronounced the victim dead.
Investigators learned a fight broke out between people inside the home. The victim was being held down pending the arrival of police when he became unresponsive.
Several individuals involved in the fight have been detained and are cooperating with the investigation.
This investigation is on-going and there is no additional information available at this time.

Los Angeles County Sheriff's Homicide detectives are responding to assist South Gate Police Department with a death investigation that occurred on October 10, 2022 at approximately 11:28 p.m., on the 2500 block of Indiana Avenue, South Gate.
The victim was pronounced dead at the scene.
