INCIDENT: PC 29800(A)(1): FELON IN POSSESSION OF A FIREARM
PC 30305(a)(1): FELON IN POSSESSION OF AMMUNITION
LOCATION: Johnson Road/ Goss Road, Phelan
SUSPECT: Richard Gomez, 44 years-old, resident of Phelan
SUMMARY: On Sunday, October 9, 2022, at 4:32 a.m., deputies responded to a 911 call near Johnson Road and Goss Road in Phelan. According to the caller, they heard several gunshots in the area and then saw a man running with a gun.
Deputy N. Franco arrived and located Richard Gomez in the area and found an unserialized 40mm gun hidden in the bushes. Through the investigation, Deputy Franco was able to confirm the gun belonged to Gomez. Gomez, who is a convicted felon, was arrested without incident and booked at High Desert Detention Center for felon in possession of a firearm and felon in possession of ammunition.
