Full Notification

At approximately 8:46pm this evening, police learned there had been an altercation between two small groups of people while at the Shake Shack at Hillsdale Shopping Center. As one group fled the area, witnesses reported seeing a firearm, which caused numerous mall goers to run from the area of the North Block in fear. An officer was already on scene (working a detail in the area), so additional officers responded and were updated with information quickly. 

Two subjects were apprehended as they fled the mall northbound, while two others fled in the opposite direction and remain outstanding. No firearm was located, nor was any evidence of shots fired, and there were no reports of injuries to any bystanders. 

Several officers flooded the area and blocked S. El Camino Real while conducting a search for the involved parties. At this time, this incident is under investigation. It does appear this altercation was limited to those involved and the mall and its patrons are not related to the circumstances surrounding the details of said dispute.
