Chino Man Jailed for Robbery and Battery at Chino Hills Business

SUSPECT(S): Khaya Maphenduka, a 21-year-old resident of Chino
VICTIM(S): 28-year-old Male
SUMMARY: On Tuesday, October 11, 2022, Khaya Maphenduka, a 21-year-old resident of Chino, attempted to steal merchandise from a business located in the 4200 block of Chino Hills Parkway. An employee from the business confronted Maphenduka and took the merchandise back. Maphenduka tried to re-enter the store and a physical altercation ensued. The store employee pinned Maphenduka on the ground until deputies arrived. Maphenduka bit the store employee during the altercation. Maphenduka was arrested for strong arm robbery and booked at West Valley Detention Center.
