Unfounded Report of Active Shooting on Fremont School Campus
Today, October 12, 2022, at approximately 11:15 a.m. Fremont Police and Fremont Fire responded to a high school in Fremont to the report of a shooting on campus. The reporting party claimed to be on campus when the shots were fired. Officers quickly arrived on scene and the school was immediately placed in lockdown. After a thorough search of the school, officers did not locate a suspect or any victims. The reported threat was determined to be unfounded. The lockdown has since been lifted and the school has returned to regular instruction. Similar incidents of reported school shootings have been received by other police agencies in the Bay Area.
