On Monday, October 10^th, 2022, at approximately 7:45 AM, Union City Police Department officers were dispatched to the area of 2500 Medallion Drive for an in-progress fight with a possible gun shot heard.
Upon arrival, officers spoke to witnesses and determined that a 28-year-old male victim was involved in an altercation with two male suspects.  The suspects forced the victim into the trunk of a car and drove away.

UCPD Detectives responded to the scene and took over this investigation.  While at the scene, Detectives learned that the victim was at a local hospital.

The victim said he was beaten unconscious and woke up at the bottom of a creek.  The victim was then picked up and dropped off at the hospital by a good Samaritan.  The victim was treated for multiple non-life-threatening injuries.  It was also determined that firearms were not involved in this incident.

UCPD Detectives were able to identify the involved suspects and vehicles with the assistance of Newark PD and Fremont PD.  The vehicle used in the kidnapping was taken from a carjacking incident earlier in the day on October 10^th in Fremont.

On October 11^th, Fremont PD Detectives located Kenneth Hayes (38 year old from Fremont), Tyler Perea (21 year old, Transient), and Anthony Lankford (22 years old from Fremont) and arrested them for their involvement in this case.
