Incident: Man Stabbed in Parking Lot

Location: 100 Block of Fairgrounds Drive, Petaluma
Incident Summary-
On 10/12/22, at 10:19 pm, Petaluma police officers responded to the Petaluma Valley Hospital to contact a victim who had suffered a single stab wound to his back. The injury was determined to be non-life threatening. During the investigation, it was learned that an altercation had occurred in the area of the fairgrounds parking lot located on the 100 block of fairgrounds drive. The suspect(s) have not been identified and the motive for the altercation has yet to be determined.
Officers responded to the scene of the incident and located blood evidence along with other evidentiary items. Witnesses confirmed a group of four or more persons were involved in an altercation. Witnesses observed the suspects leaving the area in four separate vehicles all described as being Infiniti G35 type vehicles.
