Relentless Police Work leads to Arrest of Two Ghost Town Gang Members in Connection with County Wide Auto Burglaries.
On 9/8/22, an auto burglary occurred at 1235 Oakmead Parkway (Faultline Brewing Company). The suspect vehicle was described as a black BMW and was later determined to be a rental vehicle. The involved BMW and suspects were reportedly associated to a large number of auto-burglaries and vehicle pursuits in the surrounding Bay Area.
Sunnyvale Department of Public Safety Detectives conducted extensive follow-up and identified Exrill Wilson (9/2/83) as a suspect. Wilson is a known associate to the Ghost Town Gang (Oakland) and prolific auto-burglar.
Sunnyvale Department of Public Safety Detectives investigated Wilson for approximately four weeks with the assistance of the Contra Costa County Safe Streets Task Force. A second suspect was identified through the investigation as James Barker (8/3/89), also a known associate to the Ghost Town Gang and prolific auto-burglar. Warrants were obtained for Wilson and Barker for 38 counts of Auto Burglary.
On October 13th, 2022, an operation was conducted with Sunnyvale DPS, the Contra Costa County Safe Streets Task Force, and FBI SWAT. Wilson and Barker were safely taken into custody for their Warrants and booked into Santa Clara County Jail. Detectives will continue to investigate to determine Wilson and Barker’s involvement in additional auto-burglaries in Sunnyvale and surrounding cities.
