Halloween Information
Halloween Celebration
I wish to address pedestrian safety during Cranbury’s Halloween celebration on Monday, October 31st. In the previous two years, Main Street was closed in response to Covid concerns and to allow better social distancing in some of our more crowded pedestrian thoroughfares. This was feasible because Halloween fell on the weekend in those years. This year, Halloween falls on a business day, so Main Street will remain open.
Cranbury Police Officers are dedicated to the safety of all those who come to Cranbury for a festive evening, especially the children. With that in mind, the Cranbury Police Department will take extra traffic management measures throughout our town during those few hours while children are “trick-or-treating”. Our School Crossing guards will be deployed on our more traveled corners. We are working to get supplemental lighting on some of the darker areas in town. Lasty, our Officers will be in the school this year providing education on pedestrian and Halloween Safety.
Our goal is always to create the safest environment within the entire community. We have successfully done so in the past and will continue to ensure we all have an enjoyable and safe Halloween.
Sincerely,
Michael J. Owens
