*** The following update is based on an active and ongoing investigation. The OSBI's initial understanding of the facts and circumstances may evolve over the course of the investigation as witnesses are interviewed and evidence is collected and analyzed.
 
Upon completion of the OSBI investigation, agents will submit a report summarizing their investigation to the office of the prosecuting attorney who will determine whether or not to file charges.
 
ANADARKO, Okla. (October 17, 2022) – The Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation (OSBI) is investigating an officer-involved-shooting involving officers from the Anadarko Police Department. Based on the initial investigation, this is what is known at this time:

• The OSBI was requested by the Anadarko Police Department to investigate an officer-involved-shooting that occurred around 9 p.m. on October 16, 2022.
• An Anadarko police officer made a traffic stop on a vehicle at 4^th and Louisiana in Anadarko.
• The vehicle pulls over and the officer begins questioning the occupants.
• A backup officer was requested to assist with the traffic stop.
• One of the officers was assisting the passenger, Angel Jimenez, 26, out of the vehicle when Jimenez runs from the scene.
• A short foot pursuit ended in the 300 block of West. Texas when Jimenez was shot.
• Officers rendered aid until EMTs arrived.
• Jimenez was transported to the hospital where he was pronounced deceased.
• A gun was recovered at the scene.
• No officers were injured.
