CORRECTED update from Mayor Bhalla on COVID-19 (10/17)
Below is the corrected update from Mayor Ravi S. Bhalla on COVID-19. The previous update had the incorrect age group eligibility.
Vaccine clinics available
In partnership with the Hudson Regional Health Commission and Medicine Man Pharmacy & Compounding, there will be two vaccine and booster clinics this week that will provide the new updated boosters to children between the ages of 6 and 11, as recently authorized by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and the U.S. Food and Drug Administration.
On Tuesday, Oct. 18, the City and Medicine Man Pharmacy & Compounding will have an updated booster clinic from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. at 605 Jackson St. The clinic will offer Moderna updated boosters for newly eligible children between the ages of 6 and 11 who received their vaccine or updated booster at least two months ago as well as the updated Pfizer and Moderna booster for those 12 years old and older who received their primary vaccine or booster at least two months ago.
Appointments are required. They can be booked online at www.hobokennj.gov/medicinemanvaccine.
The Hudson Regional Health Commission will have a clinic at 605 Jackson St. from 3 p.m. to 6:45 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 20. The clinic will offer Moderna, Pfizer-BioNTech, J&J/Janssen, and Novavax COVID-19 vaccines as well as updated Pfizer and Moderna boosters including updated Moderna boosters to community members 6 years old and older. The clinic will also offer the seasonal flu vaccine to individuals over the age of 18.
Appointments are recommended, but not required as walk-ins will be accepted. To make an appointment, go to www.hudsoncovidvax.org/.
As a reminder, those seeking a vaccine or booster can mix and match the type of booster they receive with the vaccine they received. I encourage all those eligible to get the updated booster as we head into the colder fall and winter months.
Residents can check and see if they are eligible for their booster by clicking here.
Updated Pfizer boosters to those between the ages of 5 and 11 will become available once the City receives its shipment.
