Take the Zero Waste Survey; apply for open positions; free shredding event announced
Take the Zero Waste Survey
Residents and businesses still have time to complete the City's Zero Waste Survey. Survey responses will inform the creation of a Zero Waste Plan, which aims to reduce greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions and improve quality of life.
According to the City's Climate Action Plan, solid waste accounts for approximately 10 percent of the City's GHG emissions.
The concept of zero waste goes beyond recycling and composting at the end of a product's life cycle to focus on discarded wastes as resources that can be managed in ways that preserve value, minimize environmental impacts, and conserve natural resources.
Residents and businesses can complete the survey at www.hobokennj.gov/ZeroWasteSurvey. The survey will close on Monday, Oct. 31, at 5 p.m.
