There will be two holidays this coming week which will affect Borough services. On Tuesday, November 8^th the DPW will be closed for Election Day. On Friday, November 11^th all Borough Services will be closed for Veteran’s Day. Please see the list below for specific changes.
 
Garbage & Recycling – Due to the holidays, there will be no garbage collection on Tuesday, November 8^th and Friday, November 11^th. The entire town will have their garbage collection on Monday, November 7^th and Thursday, November 10^th. The Wednesday recycling collection will not be affected.
 
Parking – Alternate Side of the Street Parking rules will be suspended on Friday, November 11^th. Overnight Parking rules will remain in effect. There may be restrictions on Division Avenue in the area of Memorial Park for Veteran’s Day services.
 
Transportation – Medical Transport will be suspended on Friday, November 11^th. Services will resume on Monday, November 14^th. The Senior Bus will be operating on Tuesday and Thursday for food shopping ONLY. The Monday and Friday mall services are temporarily suspended until further notice.
 

 
Road Closures – There may be a road closure in the area of Memorial Park on the corner  of Division Avenue and Hackensack Street on Friday, November 11^th for Veteran’s Day services.
 
Borough Hall – The Borough Hall will be closed on Friday, November 11^{th th} and will reopen Monday, November 14^th. Hours for Borough Hall are 8:30 AM to 4:30 PM Monday thru Friday, excluding holidays. However, on Election Day the Borough Clerks Office will be open until 8:00 PM to answer any election or polling questions. Those visiting Borough Hall will have their temperature checked upon entering the building and masks are optional but encouraged.  Employees interacting with visitors will follow current CDC guidelines for masking.
 
Polling / Voting Sites – Polling locations at the Carlstadt Civic Center and the Carlstadt Public School (Cafeteria off of Union Street) will be open from 6:00 AM to 8:00 PM. 
 
Mail in ballots may be dropped off in the voting box located in front of the Borough Hall, 500 Madison Street.  It is located at the curb next to the Postal Mailbox. Other locations may be found here: https://www.co.bergen.nj.us/board-of-elections/ballot-dropbox-locations
 
Municipal Court – Court sessions continue to be held virtually only, there are NO in person court sessions.  The court offices are open to assist those who have business with the court.  The office is open Monday to Friday from 8:30 AM to 4:30 PM. The office will be closed during court sessions in order to enable the staff the ability to assist those scheduled. However, the office will be closed on Friday, November 11^th and will reopen on Monday, November 14^th.
 
Library -- The William E. Dermody Free Public Library will be closed on Tuesday, November 8^th and Friday, November 11th and will reopen the following days. Hours for the Library are 10am to 8pm, Monday through Thursday; 10 AM to 5 PM on Fridays; and 10 AM to 2 PM on Saturdays. Masks are optional.
 
Veteran’s Day Services -  Carlstadt VFW Post 3149 and American Legion Post 69 will be holding a joint Veteran’s Day Service at Memorial Park, corner of Division Avenue and Hackensack Street, on Friday, November 11^th at 11:00 AM. Come  out an honor those veterans who have served in our military.
Testing Center – The COVID-19 Testing Center and Vaccine Clinic at Sun Chemical is unaffected by these holidays and will operate under their normal schedules.
