The Greenwood Police Department will no longer respond to and write reports on accidents that occur on private property that only involve property damage.  Involved parties will be instructed to exchange insurance and contact information.  Private Property Crashes that involve hit and runs, injuries, fatalities or hazmat spills will be responded to.

This is an effort to free up some time and let the officers more efficiently serve and protect the community.  Each private property crash takes an officer away from other more pressing duties for about 2-4 hours by the time the officers respond, gather information, write a report, a supervisor reviews and uploads it to CARFAX.  RARELY, does anyone request these reports.
