Shooting on Massachusetts Avenue
Sunday evening, October 16, 2022, at approximately 5:09 PM, Cobb County 911 dispatched our officers to reports of a person shot at 1651 Massachusetts Avenue. 911 callers stated they heard multiple shots fired and one person was struck and bleeding. Responding officers found twenty-seven-year-old Marco Sauveur of Marietta outside of apartment unit seven with a single gun shot wound to the thigh. Sauveur was transported to WellStar Kennestone Hospital where he later succumbed to his injuries.
According to witnesses, an altercation between residents and a visitor led to multiple weapons being fired multiple times. This is an active investigation, limiting the amount of information being released at this time. No charges have been filed as of this release.
