SUMMARY: On Monday, October 17, 2022, at 9:49 a.m., Loma Linda deputies and detectives served a search warrant at the Smoke Shop located at 25655 Redlands Boulevard, Unit C, in Loma Linda. The search warrant was served after deputies received information regarding illegal gambling activity taking place at the smoke shop.
Deputies located two illegal gaming machines that accepted money for illegal gambling, and U.S. currency in different denominations. The owner of the smoke shop, Pankaj Rasiklal Lavingia, was arrested for facilitating the illegal gambling activity and bookmaking. Lavingia was booked in at the Central Detention Center where he is being held on $25,000 bail.
