The following is a summary of criminal activity in El Cerrito September 30th to October 3rd, 2022.

 The following is a summary of criminal activity in El Cerrito. It does not include all crimes. It also does not include non-criminal events such as missing persons, traffic collisions, non-criminal deaths, non-criminal disputes, nor many other police activities that do not result in arrest.
 
September 30th

Vandalism – 6400 block of Portola Dr. 
An unknown suspect kicked in the front door of the victim’s apartment.  Neighbors heard the noise at approximately 6:20am but did not see anyone.  They went to investigate and saw the damage to the victim’s door.  The victim was not home, and it is unknown if anything was taken from the apartment.

Shoplifting – CVS 10650 San Pablo Ave.
At approximately 11:05am, two unknown suspects entered CVS and stole $200 worth of vitamins. 
 
Petty Theft – 11545 San Pablo Avenue;
At 9:20 pm an officer was sent to the report that two suspects entered the store, selected about $900 worth of merchandise, and walked out of the store without paying for the items. 

October 1st

Stolen License Plate – 1200 block of King Dr.
An unknown suspect stole the victim’s rear license plate from their Subaru Outback.  The theft occurred from September 30th at 6:30pm to October 1st at 1:50pm. 

Shoplifting – Ross 2000 El Cerrito Plaza
At approximately 2:46pm an unknown suspect stole $480.00 worth of shoes and fled towards the Plaza BART. The suspect was described as a mixed raced adult male, 30-40 years old, 5’7”, 180lbs., wearing a black hoodie, grey suede pants, and gray shoes. 
 
October 2nd

Stolen Vehicle – 1300 block of Noble Ct.
An unknown suspect stole the victims blue 1993 Honda Civic. The theft occurred sometime last night at 8pm to 9:06am this morning.

Vandalism – Valero 11687 San Pablo Ave.
At approximately 3:29am, the suspect threw a brick at the front window of the business, shattering it. The suspect never attempted to enter the building.  The video surveillance shows the suspect to be a white or Hispanic male, 20-30 years old, wearing a dark colored beanie, white/black shirt and black pants.

Assault with a Deadly Weapon/Battery on a Police Officer/Obstruct Police Officer – Mira Vista Hotel 6009 Potrero Ave.  
At approximately 12:43pm, officers responded to a report of a suspect who threw hot coffee at an employee.  An El Cerrito police officer arrived and attempted to detain a 36 year old female from Oakland in the parking lot but she refused to cooperate.  The female struck the officer as he tried to physically detain her.  A second officer arrived and the female was taken into custody.  The female was not a guest at the hotel and was wandering inside the hallway.  When the victim asked the female to leave, the female threw hot coffee on the victims face, and threw a small plastic sign at the victim. The officer and victim suffered minor injuries.  While in custody, the female was belligerent, incoherently yelling at officers and paramedics.  The female was transported to the Martinez Detention Facility.  

Stolen Vehicle – 6800 block of Portola Dr.
An unknown suspect stole the victims red Honda Civic between September 28th at 1:30am to October 2nd at 1:28pm. 

Shoplifting – DD’s Discounts 11555 San Pablo Ave.
At approximately 3:48pm a suspect stole $100.00 worth of home décor items and fled northbound through the parking lot.  The suspect was described as a black female adult, wearing a pink colored robe and blue jeans. 

Petty Theft – 11821 San Pablo Avenue (MacDonald’s);
At 7:21 pm an officer was sent to the report that a suspect had entered the store twice in thirty minutes and stole three bags of food and left. 

Petty theft – 2000 El Cerrito Plaza (Ross);
At 8:35 pm an officer was flagged down by store employees about a theft that had just occurred.  The suspect had entered the store selected merchandise and fled the store without paying for the items. 
 
October 3rd

Indecent Exposure – DD’s Discounts 11555 San Pablo Ave.
At approximately 1:59pm and unknown suspect was standing in front of the store with his pants down, pleasuring himself.  The suspect was last seen walking towards Walgreen’s.  The suspect was described as a black male adult, in his early 20’s, wearing dark colored pants and no shirt.  

Shoplifting – Pet Vet 6000 Potrero Ave.
At approximately 4pm, three suspects entered the business and stole three bags of dog food worth approximately $450.00.  The suspects fled in a blue Dodge Durango northbound on San Pablo Ave. 
The first suspect was described as a black female, wearing a pink head scarf, red shirt and teal pants. The second suspect was described as a black female, wearing black pants and black hooded sweater. The third suspect was described as a black female, wearing a black jacket and floral pattern pants.

Vandalism – 10200 block of San Pablo Avenue;
At 7:25 pm an officer was sent to the report that during the past two weeks someone put a small dent on the victim’s car.
