Green Bay Police Confirm the Report of an Active Shooter at East High School as a Hoax

The Green Bay Police Department is able to confirm that a report of an active shooter at East High School, 1415 East Walnut Street, on Thursday, October 20, 2022, to be a hoax.

Officers were dispatched to the school at approximately 10:04 a.m. for a report of an active shooter inside the school and 15 students shot. Upon entering the school, no evidence was found of an active shooter, or anyone injured.

These false threats have occurred at multiple schools today across the State, but we would like the public to know that regardless until proven otherwise, we take all threats seriously.

“I would like to credit all local police agencies for their quick response today to East High School. This call highlights the many benefits of multi-jurisdictional training for active threat incidents, such as we’ve been doing at Bay Beach Amusement Park in recent months,” said Chief Chris Davis, Green Bay Police Department.

If you have any information of incidents like this, to feel to call your local law enforcement agency.
