Drug Lab Discovered After Deputies Serve Search Warrant at a Residence; Two Suspects Taken into Custody



DATE/TIME: October 18, 2022, 1:50 p.m.

                     H&S 11379.6(A) - Manufacturing Illegal Drugs
                     


LOCATION: 1900 Block of Clary Drive, Needles, CA

SUSPECT(S): Daniel Anderson, 36-years-old, Resident of Needles, CA
                        Leigh Dechert, 33-years-old, Resident of Needles, CA

VICTIM(S): State of California


SUMMARY:  On Tuesday, October  18, 2022, at approximately 1:50 p.m., deputies from the Colorado River Station/ Needles Police Department executed a search warrant at a residence in the 1900 block of Clary Drive.  During the service of the warrant, deputies located several firearms inside the residence and a clandestine lab with butane oil used to manufacture illegal drugs.

Suspect Daniel Anderson was arrested for burglary, felon in possession of a weapon, manufacturing illegal drugs and child endangerment.  A second suspect, Leigh Dechert, was arrested  for child endangerment. 

Both suspects were transported and booked in at the Needles jail.  Anderson remains in the custody of the San Bernardino County Sheriff's Department with a combined bail amount of $500,000, awaiting a court hearing.

Dechert also remains in the custody of the San Bernardino County Sheriff's Department with a bail amount of $100,000, awaiting a court hearing.
