Crime Alert Bulletin Covering the Week of October 10-16, 2022
When I mention “the unit block” of a street, this means the incident occurred at an address anywhere between 1 and 99 of the street.
Robberies
There were no robberies during the past week.
Residential Burglaries
There were two residential burglaries during the past week.
On Sunday, 10-16-22, at approximately 12:52 a.m., Officer Premenko was dispatched to the unit block of Canterbury Avenue on a report of a suspect who broke the front door. The suspect removed a window screen to the bathroom and proceeded to break a wooden panel on the front door. The suspect left after the victim called 911.
On Sunday, 10-16-22, at approximately 2:58 a.m., Officer Premenko was dispatched again to the unit block of Canterbury Avenue. The same suspect returned, put his hands through the broken panel on the front door, opened the door, and entered the residence. The suspect, a 29-year-old Daly City resident, and known to the victim was arrested and booked into jail for residential burglary.
Commercial Burglaries
There were no commercial burglaries during the past week.
Vehicle Burglaries
There were seven vehicle burglaries reported during the past week.
- Unit block of Avalon Drive—nothing was taken from a 2015 Dodge Ram 1500. Unknown method of entry. Occurred on 10-10-22 at approximately 1:30 a.m.
- 100 block of Vista Grande Avenue—a wallet was taken from a 2011 Audi Q5. The front right passenger window was broken. Occurred between 3:00 p.m. on 10-10-22 and 2:40 p.m. on 10-11-22.
- 700 block of Serramonte Boulevard—an LCD mirror, tools, and tool bag were taken from a 2014 GMC Savana. The passenger side window and sliding door window were smashed. Occurred on 10-11-22 at approximately 10:20 a.m. **Online report.
- 100 block of B Street—dog leashes and grooming items were taken from a 2014 Ford F150. The front passenger window was broken. Occurred on 10-12-22 at approximately 4:10 a.m. **Online report.
- Unit block of Fieldcrest Drive—a nail gun kit, vehicle registration, and insurance paperwork were taken from a 2008 Chevrolet Express. Unknown method of entry. Occurred between 5:00 p.m. on 10-14-22 and 4:30 p.m. on 10-15-22.
- 2000 block of Junipero Serra Boulevard—miscellaneous tools were taken from a 2018 Ford F250. The rear driver’s side window was broken. Occurred on 10-16-22 at approximately 5:23 a.m.
- West Moltke Street and Mission Street—pieces of costume jewelry were taken from a 2017 Nissan NV200. The front right wing window was broken. Occurred between 6:00 p.m. on 10-16-22 and 9:00 a.m. on 10-17-22.
Stolen Vehicles
There were five vehicles stolen and one attempted vehicle stolen during the past week. Three vehicles were recovered.
- Lake Merced Boulevard and Coronado Avenue—a 2003 Acura TL. Occurred between 9:00 p.m. on 10-10-22 and 8:00 a.m. on 10-11-22. **Recovered by DCPD on 10-11-22.
- Parking lot on the 300 block of Lake Merced Boulevard—a 1979 Datsun 280ZX. Occurred on 10-12-22 between 4:00 p.m. and 8:15 p.m.
- Parking garage on the 300 block of Imperial Way—a 2015 Mercedes GL 450. Occurred on 10-13-22 at approximately 9:00 p.m. **Recovered by East Palo Alto PD on 10-17-22.
- Unit block of Coronado Avenue—a 2007 Chevrolet Express. Occurred between 6:00 p.m. on 10-14-22 and 11:16 a.m. on 10-15-22.
- 100 block of Vistamonte Avenue—an attempted theft of a 2001 GMC Yukon. Occurred between 5:00 p.m. on 10-13-22 and 6:30 a.m. on 10-14-22.
Miscellaneous
- There were 192 cases taken.
- There were 19 domestic disturbance cases reported.
- There were 8 cases involving an involuntary psychiatric hold.
- There were 18 malicious mischief/vandalism cases reported.
- There were 2 cases for public intoxication.
- There were 2 hit-and-run collisions reported.
- There were 19 narcotics-related cases taken.

Daly City’s Annual TRUNK OR TREAT event, Friday, October 21, 2022, 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m., Westlake Park
Please join the City of Daly City Recreation Services for their TRUNK OR TREAT event on Friday, October 21, 2022, from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m., at Westlake Park, located at 145 Lake Merced Boulevard. Walk from car to car collecting treats in the haunted parking lot. The cost is $5 per participant. Daly City Make a Difference Day
Free Recycling Event — Saturday, October 22, 2022, 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., City Hall Parking Lot
The City of Daly City is hosting this event in the City Hall parking lot where they will be offering the following free services in a drive-through format: Secure Document Shredding, E-waste Drop-off, and Used Tire Take Back. There will be NO mattresses or household hazardous waste accepted. Proof of residency is required to drop off items for disposal (driver’s license and/or recent utility bill). Volunteer Clean-Ups — Saturday, October 22, 2022, Various Times
In addition, there will be opportunities to volunteer in tree plantings, clean-ups in parks and neighborhoods, Mission Street-Top of the Hill clean-up, and Mussel Rock Coastal clean-up. All volunteers must complete a release form prior to beginning any work activity associated with Make a Difference Day. San Mateo County Poet Laureate
Are you interested in being San Mateo County’s next Poet Laureate? The Poet Laureate will be a two-year position which includes a $5,000 yearly stipend. During that term, the Poet Laureate will act as ambassador and advocate for poetry, literature, and the arts. It is expected that the Poet Laureate will contribute to San Mateo County’s poetry and literary legacy through public readings and participation in civic events. Daly City Public Library Associates (DCPLA), Art & Lit Fest, Saturday, November 5, 2022, 11:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., Serramonte Center
