Public Service Announcement: The Woodlake Community Wetlands and Lake Are Closed to Public Activity

The Woodlake community is home to a protected wetland and lake, both within a fenced area and closed to the public for the foreseeable future. The referenced area is marked by “No Trespassing” signs and is closed to fishing, picnics, nature walks and anything else that requires entry onto the property, except for sanctioned maintenance activities.

In the past, some have chosen to ignore the “No Trespassing” signs and entered the property, resulting in littering and significant damage to the environment. Violations will not be tolerated.

The property is monitored at all times by security cameras.  Fairfield Police officers have responded on several occasions and directed people to leave the area and will continue to do so. Trespassing in this protected area may result in warnings, citations and, if necessary, arrest.

To avoid this, please help us mitigate further damage to this area – respect and protect our wetlands.
