On October 25, 2022, at 7:51 AM, Simi Valley Police Officers were dispatched to a vehicle collision at Yosemite near Cottonwood. When Officers arrived, they discovered a single-vehicle collision into a tree on the center median. The driver and sole occupant was removed by the fire department and pronounced deceased.
During the investigation, evidence was located suggesting that the driver's death was most likely a medical condition rather than the impact of the collision. At the time of this media release, the cause of death is undetermined. The driver was a 65-year-old male adult and a resident of Simi Valley. His identity is currently being withheld.
