UPDATE: US Highway 101 has now reopened in both directions.
ORIGINAL MESSAGE: US Highway 101 is closed in both directions at Knife River quarry (near mile marker 24) south of Seaside due to a serious motor vehicle accident. The highway will be closed for an indefinite amount of time to allow emergency resources to respond. Motorists should avoid the area.
