This fall, in an effort to protect community health, nonprofit Raritan Headwaters is partnering with Tewksbury Township to offer well water testing to citizens at below-market cost. Testing is especially important if your drinking water comes from a private well, because you won’t know if it’s free from contaminants until it’s tested.

Residents can purchase water sample collection kits from October 24 – November 1. The water samples must then be dropped off at the Tewksbury Township Administrative Building on November 2^nd or 3^rd (7 – 9:30 am).   Test results will be available via email or mail about two to three weeks later.

Water testing is performed by a New Jersey certified laboratory. All test results are reported directly and confidentially to you, the resident. Basic kits are $70 and include a fecal coliform and nitrate test. Additional tests are available for the following additional fees: Lead $30.00; Iron/Manganese $45.00; Arsenic $35.00; Volatile Organics $115.00; Gross Alpha $85; Radon $55.
