Robbery detectives arrest 36-year-old Shamiya Hunt and 55-year-old Sierra Hunt for their alleged role in two bank robberies

Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department (IMPD) Federal Bureau of Investigations-Violent Crimes Task Force Unit arrested 36-year-old Shamiya Hunt and 55-year-old Sierra Hunt on Tuesday, October 25, 2022, following two robberies at local banks within a short time from of each other.

During the morning of Tuesday, October 25th, 2022,  Speedway Police Department responded to 2302 Cunningham Rd. for an attempted bank robbery.  The suspect left in a red colored Honda.
On Tuesday October 25, 2022, officers with the IMPD responded to 1250 East 86th Street, The Regions Bank, for a confirmed bank robbery.   Officers were advised a female had entered the business, committed the robbery, then fled in a red Honda. IMPD detectives located the vehicle shortly after.   The Plainfield Police Department assisted IMPD in stopping the vehicle and apprehension of the occupants without further incident.

As the investigation continued detectives were able interview the suspects and subsequently arrested both Shamiya Hunt and Sierra Hunt for their roles in these robberies.

The Marion County Prosecutor’s Office will review the case and make the final charging decision. These investigations are still ongoing.
