Police Seek Public’s Help Identifying Burglary into Auto Suspect
Newark Public Safety Director Fritz G. Fragé requests the public’s help with identifying the below-pictured suspect in connection with the burglary of a vehicle on October 24, 2022.
Police officers responded to a call about a theft that occurred at approximately 4 a.m. in the 50 block of 3rd Street. When they arrived, the victim’s power tools were missing from his work van.
The suspect, a Hispanic male, was captured on surveillance video climbing over a railing to enter the victim’s driveway. He was standing around the victim’s vehicle before fleeing on foot heading northbound on 3rd Street towards Sussex Avenue. The suspect was wearing a black jacket and carrying a red book bag filled with items.
