On Wednesday, 10-19-22, at approximately 2:45 p.m., officers were dispatched to the Dollar Tree on Mission Street on a report of a robbery. An employee observed the suspect enter the store, select items from the shelves, and place them into a black backpack. The employee told the suspect not to steal, and the suspect became confrontational. A cashier asked the suspect to remove the items from his backpack. The suspect threw a brown paper bag containing toothpaste in front of the cashier’s feet. The suspect stated to the cashier, “I’ma beat you up.” The suspect picked up the bag containing the toothpaste, valued at $1.35, and walked towards the exit. On his way leaving the store, the suspect pushed and punched the employee on the left side of his face. The suspect exited and walked away north on Mission Street. The suspect was described as an average build Black male in his late 30s to early 40s, 5’10” tall, and wearing a black head cover, black sunglasses, black blazer, blue jeans, black shoes, black cloth mask, and a black backpack. This investigation is continuing.

On Thursday, 10-20-22, at approximately 1:34 p.m., Hidden Hype was robbed by three suspects who took three hoodies valued at approximately $2,000 and left the store. A store cashier and a witness followed the suspects to their car and demanded the suspects to return the hoodies. Nextdoor.com

Nextdoor.com is a free private social networking website for your neighborhood. This private network ensures that only those who live in your neighborhood can join; users must go through a verification process. Neighbors ask each other for business recommendations; help in locating missing pets; discuss relevant local government issues; or connect for other reasons. It is very easy to sign up. I like the fact that the site verifies users by addresses, and it won’t allow people to access a neighborhood if they don’t live there. Please note: The City of Daly City and/or the Police Department cannot see what residents post—we are only allowed to post information. There is also a mobile application, or you can have it sent to your e-mail. Give it a try!  www.nextdoor.com
