Green Bay Police Investigate a Fatal Accident on Mather Street

The Green Bay Police Department reports that a fatal accident in the downtown district has resulted in the death a 70-year-old male pedestrian of Green Bay.

Officers were dispatched to the 700 block of Mather Street at approximately 7:03 p.m. on Thursday, October 27, 2022.

Initial reports indicate that the driver of the vehicle allegedly struck the pedestrian, while he was attempting to cross at Harrison Street. The driver remained on scene and cooperative with officers.

Green Bay Police ask that drivers avoid the area until approximately 11:00 p.m. this evening, due to street closures as accident reconstruction and forensics remain on scene.

This investigation is ongoing and will determine the cause of the crash.
