On Sunday, October 30, 2022, at approximately 05:20am, personnel from the Petaluma Police Department and Petaluma Fire Department were dispatched to the intersection of Ely Blvd S and Casa Grande Rd for a reported solo vehicle traffic collision into a tree. Officers arrived on scene and found a gray BMW sedan that had collided into a redwood tree in the round-a-bout. The collision caused significant damage to the involved vehicle. A witness reported the driver of the vehicle had fled the area on foot, but the female passenger remained on scene.  The female passenger was transported to a local hospital by ambulance to be evaluated.  The female passenger provided identifying information for the driver, Daniel Bagley, who left the area prior to police arrival.  Officers located Bagley at his residence and observed injuries consistent with the collision which were also described by the passenger.  Bagley showed objective signs of intoxication and was subsequently placed under arrest for DUI.  Bagley was taken to the hospital for medical clearance prior to being booked into the Sonoma County Jail.
