Update from Mayor Bhalla on COVID-19 (10/31) 

Below is an update from Mayor Ravi S. Bhalla on COVID-19.

Two COVID-19 clinics to be held on Tuesday

On Tuesday, Nov. 1, the City and Medicine Man Pharmacy & Compounding and the Hudson Regional Health Commission will host COVID-19 vaccine and updated booster clinics.  

Hudson Regional Health Commission

Hudson Regional Health Commission will offer all vaccines and updated boosters to those eligible at 605 Jackson St. from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. The clinic will also offer seasonal flu vaccines to those 18 years old and older.  

While appointments are encouraged walk-ins will be accepted. To book an appointment, go to www.hudsoncovidvax.org/.  

Medicine Man Pharmacy & Compounding 

Medicine Man Pharmacy & Compounding will host an updated booster clinic from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. offering the updated Pfizer booster to those 5 years old and older who received their vaccine or booster at least 2 months ago and the updated Moderna booster to those 6 years old and older who received their vaccine or updated booster at least two months ago.  

Appointments are required. To book an appointment, go to www.hobokennj.gov/medicinemanvaccine.

The Hoboken Health Department reports the following COVID-19 cases:

There have been a total of 14,148 confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Hoboken. Unfortunately, another resident, age 81, passed away. My heart goes out to his friends and loved ones. The City has now lost a total of 68 individuals since the pandemic began. Hoboken University Medical Center is currently treating eight individuals with COVID-19,.three of which are Hoboken residents. 

Update from the Hoboken Health Department  

  • Cases are being investigated on a priority basis 18 years of age and under, at high risk, and over 65 years old  
  • Cases are associated with community widespread in camps, daycare, social gatherings, travel, and work  
  • Our regional Community Transmission level is currently Medium Risk

0-11: 13
12-19: 2
20-29: 24
30-39: 23
40-49: 18
50-59: 6
60-69: 8
70+: 8

Please note, the negative numbers reflect NJDOH data changes. 

Vaccination rate update

Below is the vaccination rate for Hoboken according to the NJDOH:

All ages: > 90% (first dose)
12 and over: >90% (first dose)
18 and over: >90% (first dose)
30 and over: >90% (first dose)
65 and over: >90% (first dose)

All ages: 84% (second dose)
12 and over: 86% (second dose)
18 and over: 83% (second dose)
30 and over: >90% (second dose)
65 and over: >90% (second dose)

The State has not provided municipalities with booster numbers.
