Search Warrant for Robbery with a Firearm Results in Arrest

On October 28, 2022, at approximately 9:30 a.m., Rohnert Park Department of Public Safety (RPDPS) Officers responded to a call for service regarding a person reporting a robbery that occurred during the nighttime hours on October 27, 2022. The victim reported they were at a party in Rohnert Park when the suspect picked up the victim in the suspect’s vehicle and drove a short distance before the suspect produced a handgun and demanded the victim’s bag containing an undisclosed amount of money.
On October 29, 2022, the RPDPS Investigations Unit determined the suspect resided in the unincorporated area of Santa Rosa. On October 30, 2022, at approximately 9:15 a.m., RPDPS Detectives and Patrol Officers served a search warrant at the residence and located five handguns, numerous high capacity handgun and assault rifle magazines, ammunition, assault rifle parts, and cash. Some of the recovered firearms were found to be illegally modified to be fully automatic, and some of the firearms did not have serial numbers (firearms without serial numbers are often referred to as “ghost guns”).
As a result of the items found during the search warrant, two juveniles and one adult were taken into custody without incident at the residence. The following are charges associated with each person arrested:
- Juvenile 1, a 17-year-old male resident of Santa Rosa, was arrested for on one felony count of 211 PC – Robbery, one felony count of 29610 PC – Minor in possession of a firearm, four felony counts of 32625(a) PC – Possession of a machine gun, one misdemeanor count of 29650 PC – Minor in possession of ammunition, and one misdemeanor count of 29180(c) PC – Possession of an unserialized firearm.
- Juvenile 2, a 16-year-old male resident of Santa Rosa, was arrested for one felony count of 29610 PC – Minor in possession of a firearm, four felony counts of 32625(a) PC – Possession of a machine gun, one misdemeanor count of 29650 PC – Minor in possession of ammunition, and one misdemeanor count of 29180(c) PC – Possession of an unserialized firearm.
- Ricardo Navarete, a 34-year old male resident of Santa Rosa, was arrested for four felony counts of 32625(a) PC – Possession of a machine gun, one misdemeanor count of 29180(c) PC – Possession of a non-serialized firearm, and one misdemeanor count of 4060 B&P – Possession of medication without prescription
The two juveniles are being held at the Sonoma County Juvenile Hall. Ricardo Navarete is being held on a $25,000 bond at the Sonoma County Main Adult Detention Facility.
