San Diego Man Arrested After Using a Fire Extinguisher to Attempt to Break into an Apartment

INCIDENT: Attempted Home Invasion Robbery
LOCATION: Newporter Apartments, 15251 Seneca Road, Victorville
SUSPECT(S): Marquez Hutchinson, 21-year-old Male Resident of San Diego
VICTIM(S): Confidential Residents of Victorville
SUMMARY: On Monday, October 31, 2022, at approximately 1:00 p.m., deputies from the Victorville Police Department were dispatched to the Newporter Apartments in Victorville after a tenant reported an unknown man actively trying to break into their apartment with their family inside.
Deputies arrived on scene and located the suspect, Marquez Hutchinson. Hutchinson broke the glass to a wall mounted fire extinguisher case and used the extinguisher to try and force open the apartment door. Deputies arrested Hutchinson for attempted home invasion robbery.
