2022 CERT TRAINING GRADUATES TO BE RECOGNIZED AT CITY COUNCIL MEETING

27 recent CERT training graduates will be recognized at the Simi Valley City Council Meeting on November 7th at 6:30pm for completing the basic Community Emergency Response Team training and participating in a Disaster Simulation.

The Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) training educates community members about the potential disasters that could affect their area and how to respond to them safely and responsibly.

CERT teaches volunteers basic disaster response skills such as extinguishing small fires, light search and research techniques, the organizational structure of incident response, and medical do’s and don’ts in a disaster environment.

CERT training is FREE to anyone 18 years or older who lives or works in Simi Valley and minors 12-17 who are accompanied by a guardian. The curriculum is presented by Ventura County Fire Department personnel and is held at the City of Simi Valley Emergency Operation Center. The next in-person CERT training will be presented in early 2023. Hybrid online CERT training is also available.
