INCIDENT: PC 29800(a) (1) – Felon in Possession of a Firearm
LOCATION: 3rd Street and D Street, Needles, CA
SUSPECT(S): James Edward Day, 47-years-old, Resident of Needles
VICTIM(S): State of California
SUMMARY: On November 3, 2022, at approximately 3:55 a.m., deputies from the Colorado River Station / Needles Police Department conducted a traffic stop for a vehicle code violation in the area of 3rd Street and D Street.
During contact with the subjects inside of the vehicle, the deputy noticed a rifle inside of the vehicle. The subjects were detained, including James Day, who stated the rifle belonged to him. During the investigation, it was discovered Day was in possession of suspected methamphetamine.
Day was arrested for PC 29800 (a)(1) – Felon in Possession of a Firearm and was transported to the Colorado River Station jail for booking. Day remains in the custody of the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department with a bail amount of $50,000.00.
