Crime Blotter for the Week of October 23 – 29, 2022.

The following is a synopsis of crimes reported for the week of October 23, 2022 – October 29, 2022.        
 
 
October 23, 2022

  • Aggravated Assault (Domestic Violence):
1600 Mountain Avenue (Walmart). On October 23, 2022 at 4:00 AM the suspect and victim, who are in a dating relationship were at the shopping center in the suspect’s vehicle a 1992 four door black Lexus. The suspect began to drive towards the freeway after becoming very angry with the victim. As the suspect was driving, he began to assault the victim, by punching her in the face with a closed fist. The suspect produced a small pocketknife and additionally stabbed her leg numerous times. The victim was eventually dropped off on Foothill Bl in Azusa, where the suspect fled in an unknown direction. No surveillance video available.
 
October 24, 2022
  • Burglay (Vehicle):
2300 Block of Golden Meadow Drive. On October 24, 2022 at 1:20 AM suspect(s) unknown driving a dark colored sedan used an electronic device to remotely unlock the victim’s vehicle, a 2020 Ford F150 truck.  Suspect(s) ransacked the vehicle and stole two bags containing baseball equipment.  Loss was approximately $2,000. Surveillance video available.
  
October 25, 2022
  • Aggravated Assault (Domestic Violence):
900 block of Livermont Lane. On October 25, 2022 at 8:13 PM the suspect and victim, who have been married for 20 years were involved in an argument regarding their son. The suspect became angry with her husband for taking the sons side and knocked his cellphone out of his hands and punched him in the face. The victim feared for his safety and attempted to push the suspect away from him, when she grabbed ahold of him, and they both fell to the floor. While on the floor, the victim mounted the suspect to prevent her from assaulting him anymore. While the victim was on top of the suspect she bit him on the forearm.  Both parties separated, where they both called “911”. The primary aggressor (Wife) was arrested. Cell phone video available.
 
  • Burglay (Commercial):
1231 Huntington Drive (Baskin Robins). On October 25, 2022 at 1:59 AM suspect unknown, a male adult wearing dark clothing, gloves and mask entered the location by shattering the front glass door. The suspect opened the empty register and attempted to enter the locked office but was unable to. The suspect fled the location without stealing anything.  Damage was approximately $800. Surveillance video available.
 
  • Grand Theft Vehicle:
800 Block of Livermont Lane. Between October 20, 2022 12:00 AM and October 25, 2022 1:28 PM suspect(s) unknown stole the victims parked vehicle a gray 2016 Ford Escape. No surveillance video available. Vehicle recovered by Baldwin Park PD.

October 28, 2022
  • Burglary (Residential):
2500 Block of Willowglen Drive. On October 28, 2022 between 9:00 AM and 2:00 PM suspects unknown entered the location by forcing open the screen door to the rear sliding glass door. Once inside, the suspect(s) ransacked the location and stole jewelry, U.S. currency and two “Chanel” bags. Loss was approximately $76,500. No surveillance video available.
 
  • Burglary (Commercial):
1221 Huntington Drive (Heemo Sushi).  On October 28, 2022 at 1:00 AM suspect unknown, a male black adult wearing dark clothing, gloves and mask entered the location by cutting the front glass door lock.  The suspect opened the empty register and then forced his way into an office where the business had money inside of a desk drawer. Loss was approximately $6,000 with damages totaling $6,000. Surveillance video available.
 
October 29, 2022
  • Aggravated Assault:
1600 Mountain Avenue (Walmart).  On October 29, 2022 at 5:13 PM the suspect a male black adult 6’ tall, 170 Lbs. wearing all black clothing, was being escorted out of the location by the victim (Loss prevention). The suspect without provocation pushed the victim, causing him to fall backwards and hitting his head on a metal pole. The victim blacked out due to the fall. Suspect detained and arrested by responding deputies. 
 
 
Holiday Shopping Safety Tips
  • Be aware of your surroundings. 
  • Remember where you parked your car. 
  • If shopping late in the day or after dark, park in an area that is well lighted. 
  • Shop in pairs at the very least. 
  • As you return to your car, make sure to keep your car key in your hand.
  • Do not leave packages visible in your car. Lock them in the trunk or, if possible, take them directly home.
  • Avoid carrying large amounts of cash.
