Theft suspects arrested after Pursuit into Los Angeles

On November 4, 2022, at approximately 1:13 PM, Simi Valley Police Officers were dispatched to a theft that just occurred at the Simi Village Post Office, which is located at 255 Simi Village Drive, in Simi Valley. A US postal employee advised dispatch that a vehicle had pulled into the facilities secure parking lot and stolen a large amount of mail from the loading dock area. The witness provided a description of the suspects, suspect vehicle and a partial license plate.
 
A short time later, an SVPD Officer observed the suspect vehicle travelling eastbound on the 118 and attempted a traffic stop. The vehicle failed to yield and a pursuit ensued. The pursuit continued into the San Fernando Valley and onto surface streets where the suspects attempted to discard the mail from their vehicle. The suspect vehicle was ultimately stopped when Officers executed a successful PIT maneuver at Balboa Blvd. and Rinaldi St., in the city of Los Angeles. Both suspects, Darly DeLeon, 20 from Los Angeles and a 17 year old female from Los Angeles were taken into custody. There were no injuries and the mail was recovered with the assistance of LAPD. Deleon was arrested for conspiracy, mail theft and felony evading, she was booked at Ventura County Jail. The female Juvenile was arrested for conspiracy, mail theft and ultimately released to her parents.
