High Wind Warning in effect until 7pm - Watch for Down Powerlines and Debris
HIGH WIND WARNING IN EFFECT UNTIL 7 PM CDT THIS EVENING...
* WHAT...South winds 25 to 35 mph with gusts in excess of 60 mph
expected.
* WHERE...Portions of central, east central and northeast
Illinois and northwest Indiana.
* WHEN...Until 7 PM CDT this evening.
* IMPACTS...Damaging winds will blow down trees and power lines.
Scattered power outages are expected. Travel will be difficult,
especially for high profile vehicles.
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...The strongest winds with gusts up to 65
mph are expected from daybreak to noon. Thereafter, gusts up to
55 will continue through sunset.
PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...
People should avoid being outside in forested areas and around
trees and branches. If possible, remain in the lower levels of
your home during the windstorm, and avoid windows. Use caution if
you must drive.
