IMPD Homicide Detectives Make Quick Arrest in Saturday Homicide Investigation

INDIANAPOLIS-Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department (IMPD) arrested 35-year-old Stefen Lowe for his alleged involvement in a recent homicide.

On Saturday, November 5, 2022, just before 1:00 pm, IMPD North District officers responded to the 1700 block of E. 25th Street on a person shot. Officers arrived and located an adult male with injuries consistent with a gunshot wound(s) outside. Indianapolis Emergency Medical Services (IEMS) arrived, and the male was pronounced deceased at the scene.

IMPD homicide detectives responded to the scene to begin the investigation. Subsequently, with information obtained and crime-fighting technology, officers from IMPD Northwest and North Districts were able to detain Lowe in the 7500 block of Harcourt Road. After further investigation, 35-year-old Stefen Lowe was arrested for murder.

The Indianapolis-Marion County Forensic Services Agency responded to identify and collect potential forensic evidence. The Marion County Coroner's Office assisted and will determine the exact manner and cause of death. The Marion County Coroner's Officer (MCCO) will release the decedent's name once a proper next-of-kin notification has been made.

The Marion County Prosecutors Office will review the case and make a final charging decision.
