OSBI Investigating Homicide and Shooting in Seminole County

On Sunday, November 6, 2022 at approximately 8:15 p.m., Sheriff Shannon Smith with the Seminole County Sheriff’s Office requested OSBI investigate a homicide and shooting that occurred in rural Seminole County between the towns of Sasakwa and Wewoka.  The Seminole County Sheriff’s Office received a 911 call regarding a shooting that had occurred at that location.  Upon arrival, deputies located Russell “Rusty” Bolen, 33 years old, deceased at the scene.  An additional individual, Robert Waters, 52 years old, had also been shot, and was transported from the scene.  Daniel Sisco, 46 years old, reported Bolen and Waters pointed firearms at him, and he shot at them, striking both of them.  OSBI agents responded to the scene, interviewed individuals, and conducted a thorough crime scene investigation.  The complete report will be turned over to the Seminole County District Attorney’s Office for decision on any charges.  The Medical Examiner’s Office will determine cause and manner of death for Bolen.
