Man Arrested after Firing Several Rounds from a Handgun Outside a Blue Jay Tavern

INCIDENT: Penal Code 246.3 - Negligent Discharge of a Firearm.
LOCATION: 27000 Block of State Highway 189, Blue Jay CA
SUSPECT(S): Fidel Ocampo-Rodarte, 24-year-old Twin Peaks Resident
VICTIM(S): State of California
SUMMARY: On Sunday, November 6, 2022, at approximately 1:50 a.m., deputies from the San Bernardino County Sheriff Department's, Twin Peaks Station received several reports of shots heard and responded to the 27000 block of State Highway 189 to investigate.
A male, identified as Fidel Ocampo-Rodarte, and several friends were drinking at the Dogwood Tavern in Blue Jay. Rodarte exited the business, pulled a small caliber handgun from his waistband, and fired several shots into the air. Moments later, while in the business parking lot, Rodarte fired several more rounds into the air. Rodarte and his friends then fled the scene in multiple vehicles.
Responding deputies identified Rodarte from witness statements and conducted an extensive area check for Rodarte. Later that day, Rodarte turned himself in at the Twin Peaks Station without incident. Deputies served a search warrant at Rodarte's residence and recovered multiple firearms. Rodarte was arrested and booked into West Valley Detention Center for PC 246.3, Negligent Discharge of a Firearm.
