Rancho Cucamonga Police Warn of Men Scamming People for Money

INCIDENT: Penal Code 532(a) -Theft by False Pretense
LOCATION: 10000 block of Goldenrod Court, Rancho Cucamonga and 9775 Baseline Road, Rancho Cucamonga
SUSPECT(S): Suspect #1 Black Male Adult, 60-years old, 6’0 tall, medium build, mustache, who wore a red and green checkered shirt
Suspect #2 Black Male Adult, 6’0 tall, slim build
Suspect #3 Hispanic Male Adult, short stature, heavy build, who wore a long sleeve polo type shirt
VICTIM(S): Victim #1 42-year-old female resident of Rancho Cucamonga
Victim #2 55-year-old female resident of Rancho Cucamonga
SUMMARY: A trio of male suspects have worked in tandem to defraud two unknowing victims of thousands of dollars. In two separate instances, the suspects approached female victims in a public place and convinced them they recently suffered the death of a relative who left them with a significant monetary inheritance to donate. Through deceptive rapport building and false authentication of their affluence, the males convinced the victims to donate funds of their own.
Deputies from the Rancho Cucamonga Station remind residents to remain vigilant for potential scams that occur online and in-person.
