Investigators with the Ventura County Sheriff’s Office arrested two suspects involved in a robbery of a bank. On October 4, 2022, at approximately 1137 hours, deputies from the Camarillo Police Station and Sheriff’s Canine Unit responded to a robbery at Citibank, located in the 400-block of Arneill Road in the city of Camarillo. Employees at Citibank reported that a black male, wearing a fluorescent-colored construction vest, a wig with long dreadlocks, and a COVID style facemask entered the location. The suspect approached the teller and demanded money. The suspect took the money from the teller’s hand and a bank drawer. The suspect fled the location with an undisclosed amount of money and ran to an awaiting vehicle that was parked in the area. Investigators from the Sheriff’s Major Crimes Bureau, Camarillo Detective Bureau, Camarillo Special Enforcement Detail, Sheriff’s Gang Unit, and the Federal Bureau of Investigation responded to assist with the investigation. Anthony Edwards and Alicia Brown were identified as the suspects in the Citibank robbery. During the investigation, a search warrant was served at their residence, located along the 100-block of S. Burlington Avenue in Los Angeles, where detectives located additional evidence linking them to the crime. The investigation revealed Anthony Edwards and Alicia Brown conspired together to plan and commit the robbery. On November 3, 2022, Alicia Brown was located by detectives in the Los Angeles area and was arrested for the robbery. Brown was transported to Ventura County. On November 3, 2022, after Brown’s arrest, Anthony Edwards was arrested at the Pre-Trial Detention Facility where he was in-custody for an unrelated case. Edwards and Brown were booked at the Pre-Trial Detention Facility for robbery and conspiracy to commit the crime. On November 7, 2022, the Ventura County District Attorney’s Office filed one count of second degree robbery against Edwards and one count of second degree robbery against Brown. Edwards remains in custody on $160,000 bail. Brown remains in custody on $150,000 bail. Edwards and Brown’s next court date is scheduled for November 17, 2022.
