Wilmington Police have arrested a man on gun charges.

On November 3 at approximately 6:47 p.m., members of the Street Crimes Unit were in the 2200 block of West Street when they observed 24-year-old Salvador Vasquez acting in a suspicious manner.  When police attempted to make contact with him, Vasquez fled on foot.  He was quickly taken into custody without incident.  Police recovered a loaded 9mm handgun.

Vasquez was charged with the following offenses:

• Possession of a Firearm by a Person Prohibited (2 counts)
• Carrying a Concealed Deadly Weapon
• Resisting Arrest
