Weather Update #2: Tropical Storm Nicole
The Jekyll Island Authority is actively monitoring Tropical Storm Nicole and is in close communication with the Glynn County EMA, NWS Jacksonville, GEMA, and the Governor's Office to assess any impact to the island. Conditions are continuing to be monitored and additional updates will be communicated.
The following Jekyll Island Authority facilities will be closed Thursday, November 10, reopening Friday, November 11:
- Jekyll Island Golf Club
- Jekyll Island Tennis Center
- Jekyll Island Bikes & Mini Golf
- Jekyll Island Historic Trolley Tours, Cottages & Faith Chapel (Mosaic, Jekyll Island Museum will remain open)
Glynn County Schools will now be closed Thursday, November 10.
No causeway, road, or bridge closures have been announced. GDOT is monitoring wind conditions for the Sidney Lanier Bridge and any potential closures will be announced as they are known.
As a reminder, the area is currently under a Tropical Storm Warning. There is a potential for surge flooding/heavy rainfall, tropical-storm-force winds, and isolated tornado threats Thursday through Friday evening.
