FLOOD WATCH IN EFFECT FROM THIS EVENING THROUGH LATE FRIDAY NIGHT...

* WHAT...Flash flooding caused by excessive rainfall is possible.

* WHEN...From this evening through late Friday night.

* IMPACTS...Excessive runoff may result in flooding of rivers,
creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
- Bands of heavy rain will develop tonight ahead of Tropical
Storm Nicole or its remnant low, with periods of heavy rain
likely until the system exits to the north early Saturday

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

A Flood Watch for flash flooding means there is a potential for
rapid onset flooding based on current forecasts. Flash flooding is a
very dangerous situation and may impact areas that do not typically
flood. Please monitor the latest forecasts and be prepared to take
action quickly should Flash Flood Warnings be issued.

WIND ADVISORY IN EFFECT FROM 7 PM THIS EVENING TO 7 PM EST FRIDAY...

* WHAT...Southeasterly winds 15 to 25 mph with gusts up to 40 mph
expected. Higher elevations may see gusts up to 50 mph.

* WHERE...The mountains of western North Carolina, along and west
of the Blue Ridge Escarpment.

* WHEN...From 7 PM this evening to 7 PM EST Friday.

* IMPACTS...Gusty winds could blow around unsecured objects. Tree
limbs could be blown down and a few power outages may result.
