MESSAGE TO THE TEANECK COMMUNITY
 
 
The below update has been provided by the FBI in reference to the arrest of the subject alleged to be responsible for the threat to NJ Jewish Synagogues on November 3, 2022. 
 
FINAL UPDATE:
 

• This morning, pursuant to a criminal complaint filed in the United States District Court for the District of New Jersey, the FBI Newark Joint Terrorism Task Force (JTTF) arrested an 18 year-old male subject from Sayreville, NJ.

 

• The individual is charged with one count of violating Title 18 U.S.C. Section 875(c), Transmitting a Threat to Injure Another Individual Using Interstate Communications.
   
• Further details will be provided later today through a press release from the U.S. Attorney's Office.

 
Although this threat was quickly neutralized, we will continue to work closely with our law enforcement counterparts on the Federal, State and County levels. Always remain alert and vigilant. Continue to take all security precautions to protect our community. If you see something, say something by reporting it to 911 for emergencies, and 201-837-2600 for non-emergencies.
