This is an urgent message from the Matawan Department of Public Works and the Office of Emergency Management:

Due to a large water main break located at 986 Hwy. 34, we are asking water customers to please limit their water usage today, November 11, 2022. The repair is expected to be completed by 5pm. When water service is restored, customers may experience discolored water. If your water is discolored, run the cold water taps only, at the lowest level of the house for about 3 to 5 minutes until the water runs clear. You will not receive any further notification unless additional action is required, or conditions change. We apologize for any inconvenience and appreciate your patience and understanding as we work to resolve this issue.  Thank you.
