Mayor of Teaneck – Statement on Township Council Elections
While there is still a small number of ballots outstanding, it appears that the remaining votes will not affect the outcome of the Teaneck Town Council Elections.
Therefore, I wish to congratulate incumbent Deputy Mayor Elie Katz for returning to Council for another four-year term. The deputy mayor has been an invaluable asset to the Council for many years, and the Township of Teaneck is lucky to have him continue his incredible service to our community.
I also want to congratulate Danielle Gee, Denise Belcher and Hillary Goldberg for their election to Council. Thank you for your commitment to serve as members of Council, and your dedication to serve the Teaneck community.
I also want to thank Chondra Young, Anthony Bruno, Desiree Ramos-Reiner and Latisha Garcia for consenting to serve Teaneck. While you did not prevail in this year’s election, know that your active participation in our elective process enhanced the dialogue, and gave our community tremendous choices this election season. Thank you for your past and future service to Teaneck.
Finally, a special thank you to Councilmember Keith Kaplan. I have seen firsthand his tireless service to the Teaneck community. His work has led to many accomplishments that the Township will appreciate and benefit from for years to come. Thank you, Keith, for your dedication to Teaneck, its residents, and your friendship over the past four and half years.
The Council Reorganization Meeting will take place on Wednesday, January 4, 2023. A venue, time and place will be announced shortly.
Warm regards,
Dr. James Dunleavy
Mayor
